Rydal 2025 – confirmed arrangements and costs

I’m writing to let you know details of Rydal 2025 which will take place from Saturday, 23rd August to Saturday, 30th August 2025.  Note that this is a different week to our usual slot.  Even if you’re a regular, please read this email carefully because some details have changed.  In the first instance, please let me know if:

• You’re intending to come
• You won’t be coming this year, in which case we’ll stop emailing you about Rydal 2025, but you’ll go back on the list for Rydal 2026
• You don’t want to come to Rydal again, in which case we’ll “unsubscribe” you [If you do this and regret it later, you can always get back onto the list by emailing GeninOrchestra@gmail.com]

I’m delighted to report that there is only a small increase in prices from last year; just £4 per person per night.  The tariff for players staying in the Hall this year is therefore:

• £110 per person per night for guests sharing a twin or double room (£770 for the week)
• £130 per person per night for a single occupancy room (£910 for the week)
• £145 per person per night for a twin/double for sole use (£1,015 for the week)

These prices include bed, breakfast, evening meal, mid-rehearsal tea/coffee, use of the barn and all music; all you need is your instrument and a stand.

If you intend to make your own accommodation arrangements (e.g. camping), then the cost of attending rehearsals will be £10 per rehearsal.

If you intend to come, please let me know by 31 March 2025.  We’d like to know:

• Type of room (single, double, twin, single occupancy of a double or none if you’re making your own accommodation arrangements)

• There are always more people wanting single rooms than there are in the Hall.  If you want a single room, please indicate whether or not you would be prepared to share in the event that all singles are occupied
• What nights (preference will be given to players coming for the full week)
• If you’re in a twin or double, any roommate preferences
• Your instrument
• Any dietary requirements

Unfortunately I think we may run out of space in the Hall this year; we had some new players in 2024 who fitted in very well, and a few regulars who missed last year who will probably want to return.  We require no money until we’ve assessed the situation, so please, just let me have your requirements before the end of next month.
